The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA is a hub of regional expos, events, and tradeshows. As a facility that hosts many thousands of promoters, vendors, and attendees every year for a constantly-rotating calendar of events, they are in a unique position of needing both to represent their space and assets to potential show clients and vendors, but also to reach out to area residents who might be interested in attending those shows.
Their existing site lacked much in the way of outreach—their “calendar” was a table of show names and date spans, they had little opportunity to interface with attendees, and the content fell short of truly representing the caliber and potential of the space. In addition, the design was dated and the management was cumbersome. They brought me in to fix it.
First, I updated their logo, preserving the core of it so that they would not have to replace any of their existing branded materials. I then set about structuring, designing, and building a site that served as a digital hub befitting the Expo. Visitors can now access information specifically targeted to their demographic, and view a rich calendar that clearly and dynamically highlights the shows coming to town, for years into the future. I also designed and launched an attendee newsletter program, which immediately garnered a significant subscription response, and which continues to grow every month.
